Teide volcano – ascent to the summit

Teide volcano – ascent to the summit

teide volcano tenerife

Climbing to the top of el Teide Volcano in T enerife, Tenerife, is a dream for many of you – we understand it perfectly. The highest peak in Spain, one of the highest volcanoes, in the world – it makes a huge impression that will take your breath away. Today we will tell you how it looks from the perspective of someone who has done it – our client, Mr. Maciej, who shared his impressions with us.

A guided ascent of the Teide Volcano (which you can book here) and cable car is an ideal option for lovers of nature, mountain views and adrenaline. After taking the cable car up to 3,555 meters above sea level, you’ll begin trekking along a trail that provides excitement and incredible panoramas of the entire Teide National Park and surrounding areas. This offer with us includes a permit, transportation from your hotel, a professional guide, and admission to the “Science and Legend” exhibition – everything you need to experience Teide in comfort.

What the tour looks like: climbing to the top of el Teide volcano

Mr. Maciej was picked up from his hotel. If you are staying in the area of Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas, Costa Adeje, Puerto de la Cruz, Los Gigantes, Puerto Santiago, Callao Salvaje, Playa Paraíso, we will also pick you up from your hotel or area.

The tour lasts about 6h, and the approaches are sometimes demanding. Mr. Maciej told us that at times it was difficult for him to catch his breath. At this altitude, the air is already rarefied, and reaching the summit is done without prior acclimatization (which, although not needed at this altitude, you may feel the difference). One approach in particular requires more effort, since you are climbing an almost vertical wall.

However, the views from the top of el Teide Volcano reward all the hardship. Mr. Maciej shared his photos with us (for which we thank you very much). At the summit you can (at a certain time) see the unique shadow cast by the Volcano on the Atlantic Ocean.

Impressions from the summit

Mr. Maciej also shared his impressions of the summit. As he said “it was cold for him” (in stronger words). It’s great to be able to watch you overcome your own limits and conquer the peaks. As Mr. Maciej said, “Grandpa felt like climbing the Volcano” – and we admire such grandparents and wish you more great adventures!
