Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, part of Spain. It is located in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Africa. Tenerife airports – arrivals and departures

Tenerife has two international airports that handle millions of passengers a year:

Tenerife South Airport (Aeropuerto de Tenerife Sur – TFS) – is the island’s main airport, handling most international flights. Whether you’re organizing a Tenerife vacation on your own or going on an all-inclusive Tenerife vacation, this is probably where you’ll land. Tenerife’s South Airport is located near resorts such as Playa de las Americas and Costa Adeje, as well as el Medano.

    Tenerife North Airport (Aeropuerto de Tenerife Norte – TFN) – is located near the island’s capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It mainly serves domestic flights (Tenerife Spain) and between the Canary Islands. You can fly from here to La Gomera, La Palma, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote or Gran Canaria. Tenerife north is a less touristic part of the island, but it is worth seeing the green face of Tenerife, the beautiful Anaga forests and towns.

      How to get to Tenerife?

      Tenerife – flights are available from many European cities. In Poland, regular flights to the island are offered by airlines from Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice, Wroclaw and Gdansk. It is worth looking for airline tickets from popular low-cost carriers. Since recently, LOT’s Poland-Tenerife route has also been launched. If, on the other hand, you live near Poland’s western border, pretty good deals can be found from Berlin. You can also look for flights with a connecting flight in Spanish cities such as Barcelona or Madrid.

      Airfares to Tenerife vary widely. The average price per passenger is about PLN 500. However, there are also tickets for about 300 – 400 zł. It is worth looking for tickets in advance, preferably about 2 – 3 months.

      How to get around the island?

      Upon arrival at Tenerife airport, it is advisable to rent a car or use public transportation. There are well-developed bus services on the island to explore both southern and northern Tenerife.

      The island offers plenty of attractions for any tourist. Here are some places worth visiting:

      • Teide National Park – Spain’s highest peak and the Teide volcano.
      • Loro Parque – a famous zoo with dolphin and parrot shows.
      • Siam Park – One of the best water parks in the world.
      • Masca – A picturesque village surrounded by mountains.
      • Los Gigantes – impressive cliffs on the west coast.
