Masca Gorge – highlights

This is one of the most charming places in Tenerife. A charming town from which a gorge leads through the Teno mountains. Hidden among wild exotic vegetation, the gorge is a wonderful experience for nature lovers and history buffs. After all, the village was once home to pirates who took advantage of the hard-to-reach mountains and built their settlement there.

Masca Gorge – how to buy tickets?

Tickets can be found on the website here. Trekking takes place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The ticket price for an adult is 29.96 euros, and for a child 14.98 euros. Remember that children from the age of 8 can enter the gorge.

You have two options to choose from:

• Descent (Spanish: descenso) – by choosing this option you will start your adventure from the village of Masca and descend through a ravine to the beach, from where you will take a boat to the port.
• Ascent (Spanish: ascenso) – by choosing this option you will start the adventure by arriving by boat at the beach and from there you will begin the trek up the gorge to the village of Masca

In both cases, the price of a water cab between the port of Los Gigantes and Masca beach must also be added to the ticket price. When buying a ticket to the gorge, you will also be redirected to a page where you can find a full list of operators.

Trekking – how to prepare

To cross the Masca Gorge, you must follow certain rules that are important for your safety.

• helmet – you must have a helmet at all times during the walk – you will be given one before entering the gorge and will have to return it on exit
• wear covered footwear
• Be sure to take along water, sunscreen and something long-sleeved to protect yourself from the sun
