Paragliding in Tenerife – all you need to know

You often ask us questions about paragliding in Tenerife. On the one hand, you feel that it can be an amazing memory of your holiday on this amazing island, but on the other hand, you are full of doubts. So today we answer all of them.

Is there an age limit?

There is no specific minimum or maximum age for participants, but there are weight restrictions. Participants must weigh at least 25 kg, and max. 110 kg. Usually, children from 8 years of age can already take part in the attractions.

How long is the flight?

It depends on the weather conditions. Usually the flight lasts between 20-25 minutes. Remember, however, that paragliding in Tenerife depends entirely on the strength and direction of the wind. Plan around 2 hours for the entire attraction.

Do I need a license/other special skills?

Absolutely not. This is an attraction for everyone.

Will I be flying alone?

No, the flight is tandem, which means that you will be accompanied by a licensed pilot who will take care of your safety and provide you with all instructions

Does the pilot speak english?

Yes

How to dress?

The most important thing is that your outfit is comfortable. You start at an altitude of about 1000 m above sea level, so if you see that it is cloudy in the mountains, we recommend taking long pants and a sweatshirt. It is also best to have closed shoes. We recommend taking sunglasses with you.

Is it dangerous?

Despite the fact that paragliding is an extreme sport, it is safe. It is hard to find it in the statistics of injuries or accidents. You will be accompanied by a licensed pilot at all times, who has conducted several thousand tandem flights without a single accident 🙂

Where does a paragliding flight begin and end?

If you are staying in the area of Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos – the bus will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the place. If you prefer to go yourself, we will send you a pin with the location of the meeting point. From there, the bus will take you to the starting point approx. 1000 m above sea level. You will land on the beautiful beach of La Enramada, which is also a beautiful experience in itself.
