Today I am taking you to the jungle – because Jungle Park in Tenerife is an opportunity to experience the real jungle in the heart of this beautiful island! I went there together with my little testers – 7 and 5 years old, and I will tell you how to prepare for this trip, what to bring with you and what impressed us the most.
A few words about Jungle Park in Tenerife
Jungle Park is no ordinary zoo. It’s a real jungle in an area of 75,000 m2, which is located in the south of Tenerife, in the area of Arona (about 15 minutes from Costa Adeje). Here you will find many species of exotic animals, such as parrots, crocodiles, sea lions, suricates, lemurs and endemic plants, including huge cacti. A particularly big attraction is the bird of prey show. Eagles and many other species flying over the heads of the audience is truly a great experience. A wooden playground with a long obstacle course and ropes is also available for the little ones. The park is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and an adult ticket costs 30 euros (for a full list of prices and to book, click here).
My tips
What time to arrive? – I recommend going to the park as early as possible. You will then have a chance to see as many attractions as possible and avoid the queues
Parking – there is a paid parking lot just outside the entrance, but if you arrive early, you will probably also find a free spot, along the road
Planning – there are several shows throughout the day (including a sea lion show and birds of prey show, penguin feeding). I recommend taking a flyer with the show schedule at the entrance and planning your route so that you can catch all of them. The park is large, and it takes some time to walk from one end to the other
What to bring with you?
- Although you’ll find many shady spots in the park, I recommend bringing sunscreen and headgear. During the show, you’ll be sitting in an open grandstand, when these can come in handy
- drink sth.
- comfortable shoes – walking through the park is a walk of several hours, so comfortable shoes will come in handy. I recommend covered shoes for children so they can play safely in the park with obstacles
- petty cash – there is a separate area in the park where you can feed guinea pigs. This is a great attraction for children. You can buy food for the animals from a coin-operated machine
What did we like best about Jungle Park?
Both me and my daughters were very impressed by the bird show. We had never had the opportunity to look at them up close before. The girls also really enjoyed the opportunity to enter the area with lemurs and guinea pigs. We also spent a great time on the obstacle course. And although we spent the whole day in the park, we didn’t see everything, so…. we will definitely return there!
