La Palma – sightseeing tour

A sightseeing trip to La Palma Island is an opportunity to get to know a beautiful island in the Canary Islands Archipelago, neighboring Tenerife. How does the excursion look like?

The departure of the excursion to La Palma from Tenerife will be at 8:30 from Los Cristianos, to arrive at the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma at 11:00. Upon arrival on land, the guides will explain the itinerary of the excursion. The first stop will be in the capital, where you will have free time (about 30 minutes) to discover some of the most emblematic places, such as:

• Barco de la Virgen: is a reproduction of the Santa María, where Christopher Columbus discovered America. It was built in memory of the sailors from La Palma who set off from here with sailing ships made of wood from our forests. Inside there is a maritime museum with navigational charts and reproductions of some of these ships built on the island.
• Castillo de Santa Catalina: One of the most important castles of Spain on the route to the Americas.
• Typical balconies: One of the best sets of balconies preserved in the Canary Islands. Note the double balconies that were built to ventilate the houses.

The next stop will be at Mirador de la Concepción. It is located on the highest part of the Caldereta volcano “declared a natural area,” where you can see the crater and the capital of the “beautiful island.”

You continue your journey through the Túnel del Tiempo, observing how the vegetation on the island is changing, before reaching the southwest, entering the area affected by the Cumbre Vieja volcano.

The next stop will be in the exclusion zone of the Tacande district, where you will have your first view of the volcano, and then we will head to Tazacorte, where you will see the newest lava flows in Spain.

Your last stop will be at MIRADOR DE TAJUYA, where you will have time to observe from a safe distance of 2 km, the last volcano in the Canaries, which is now called Tajogaite.

You will return to the port around 4:30 pm to depart at 5:00 pm and arrive at Los Cristianos port at 7:30 pm.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The points described above are subject to change due to difficulties encountered during the tour (rain, waves, exclusion zone). The guides will conduct the tour in the best possible way, always offering other places of interest.

The organizer reserves the right to cancel the tour if the minimum number of people is not reached. In case of unfavorable weather conditions or for any other reason that makes it impossible to carry out the tour.
